About The Workshop

Emergencies, disasters, and everyday stressors can shake our sense of safety, and our mental health often suffers in silence. When the world feels chaotic, we need each other more than ever.
In honour of World Mental Health Day, this free virtual workshop is a call to action: to take steps every day to protect your mental health and support the well-being of others. We’ll talk about why connection can feel unsafe or overwhelming, especially for those carrying trauma, and how shame, fear, and judgement get in the way of accessing care and building supportive relationships.
This session will offer simple grounding techniques and tangible tools to support your mental health, even in moments of crisis. Together, we’ll explore simple but powerful ways to create emotionally safe spaces, respond with curiosity instead of criticism, and build the kind of community that helps people stay well – even in hard times
